My Sponsor
So this is what I was going to post yesterday. A couple of you know this had been in the works since December but we finally talked some definitive details yesterday. It's not all down in writing yet but I am very excited to have my first sponsor:
OC Energy is HQ'd in my city in good ole' South Orange County. Their Energy Drinks and Bottled Water products launched just this month so they have been busy!
In addition to sponsoring me (I'm not going to give all the details here), they are also sponsoring Twin Peaks on February 4th. They will be providing all the water for the aide stations, as well as energy drinks at the aide stations and finish line and plenty of bottled water at the finish line as well. I'm working out details with them still on the race and hopefully they will be helping out with one more item.
So yay! I'm very happy to have "found" my first sponsor. Or rather - they found me. Thanks to Greg and the OC Register article. Greg - I guess I owe you some energy drinks huh? ;)
If you see me at races this year sporting the above logo on my clothing and/or visor then now you know why! To be honest I've never been a big fan of energy drinks but I really like the taste of theirs and as I run longer - 50, 100 miles.. I'm sure energy drinks will play a much larger role in my runs!
Happy Running,
Jessica

you rockstar. :)

Very cool. Sponsorship can be tricky, but if you have a good one it is a breeze. One major shoe sponsor here in the States does tell their athletes how many/which races to do. That can be tough. But what is good if they just kind of leave you alone and all you have to do is be a good model and support their products. And by looking at your picture you have it in the bag :')
My brother a.k.a. Bili is sponsored by Sunsweet and others. He likes it because he chooses not to race much and they are o.k. with that. I like there blog. Maybe because I know all the athletes but it is funny how they got thier nicknames is funny. Check it out, http//.ultrasunsweet.blogspot.com/
Oh, yes that is Meghan a.k.a. G.M. in the picture. Last year at WS100 we hiked escarpment for the flag raising and she showed her support by shaving her head and inking in SUNSWEET on the bald spot. Funny.
