My Final Week & Twin Peaks 2009

This time next week we'll be on our way to Lake Tahoe! Nervous?  Sure.  Ready?  As ready as I can be.  Worried about the elevation?  Yep.   But above all, I'm pretty excited and looking forward to a great getaway and fun race!

Yesterday, fellow Orange County Trail Runners member Dave and I met for a morning run in O'Neill.  I haven't done in mid-week morning run in many months so it was great to get out there.  It stayed cool and overcast but was very humid.  We knocked off 5 mile and then parted ways to start our days.

I've had a few people ask already about Twin Peaks 2009.  It is scheduled for February 28th, 2009 and I'm about 99% certain it will be back on the original course starting and ending at the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary. Registration will open on October 1, 2008 and prices will remain the same as in 2008.  Stay tuned for details here on this blog and over at www.twinpeaks5050.com.

Since Twin Peaks is bound to sell out again and I'm doing something new for 2009.  If you want a guaranteed spot for 2009, then you can sign up as a volunteer for the 2008 race.  I think it's fair that the people who sacrafice their day to help others race should get the first shot at the race the following year.  If you want to volunteer for 2008 to be guaranteed a spot for 2009, then send me an email to let me know.  We'll keep a list and offer early registration for volunteers (subject to a limited number of runners).  I'll hold about 10-15 spots in each race distance.  Warning - if you sign up as a 2008 volunteer, take early registration for 2009 and don't show up to volunteer, you're race entry may be voided.  I plan to save a couple spots for last minute volunteers as well to make sure all volunteers get a shot to run the next race.

Happy Running & Dirty Feet,
Jessica
